23 Years of Bessings

Today is my birthday! As I reflect on this past year, I can sum it up to say that 22 was okay, I guess. I kid! It was the most rewarding, enriching, greatest year I’ve had thus far. I discovered traveling is, like, kind of my thing as I visited eighteen countries (spanning four continents!) this past year. Some highlights…

I moved to Ireland…

Not to mention, I got to explore with countless new and old friends!

1 year. Four continents. Eighteen countries. Even more cities. 22 was certainly the year of travel! This past year was one grand experience, and I certainly plan on keeping that adventurous flame alive! However, while all last year I had no idea what I would be doing the following week (or what country I would be in), this year I have several things on my to-do list including 1) applying for grad school and 2) finishing writing my new book! Hopefully, this time next year, I’ll be half through a master’s program and on my way to a book deal. Here’s to another year of adventure, spontaneity, and seeing all this beautiful world has to offer!

Cheers,

Monique

  1. You did in a year, what some may never accomplish in a lifetime. What sounded totally impossible (you moving to Ireland, by yourself, with no job, or a place to live), you made possible. I’ve often heard the adage “Mama knows best.”, but in this case I suppose I was wrong. God stirred your heart to see the world, and explore you did! All of these memories, and the top-notch travel planner skills you now have – – whew, you’re set to keep on keeping on! I am so proud of you!

  2. This was an amazing year for you! At 22, I had been married for two years and had a toddler. I had just started nursing school and not once did I think of traveling abroad. Although I always had a thing for Italian men, if that counts. You have inspired me and I hope to travel more. Costa Rica is now the furthest I have been and it was beautiful! Good luck with your book. I’ve enjoyed reading your blog. You’re a gem! Love You!
